How Much Does SEO Cost In Thailand And What Sets The Price
What search engine optimisation (SEO) costs in Thailand depends on your industry's competition, the topics and pages in the plan, its links and content, and the team. The fee pays for work that gets pages into the top 3. Across 117 Primal client websites in one week, those positions got about 31 clicks per 1,000 impressions on searches without the brand name, against 7 at positions 4 to 10.
Key Takeaways
- Google does not accept payment to crawl a site more often or to rank it higher, so the whole of an SEO fee pays for work on the site, its content and its links.
- We found no published survey of SEO prices in Thailand that states its method and sample, so compare quotes line by line on topics, target pages, articles and links.
- Primal prices SEO from 4 industry competition tiers and the number of topics in the package, with Google and AI Search in one ElevateSEO™ plan.
- In one week of Google Search Console data, brand searches got about 12 clicks per 100 impressions across 108 Primal client websites and other searches under 1 across 117, so judge an SEO fee on searches without the brand name.
- Across 137 Primal client websites between 2026-06-15 and 2026-09-29, only 13 gained clicks in all 3 month-on-month changes, so judge SEO over 3 months or more.
What Sets The Cost Of SEO In Thailand
No single figure answers how much search engine optimisation (SEO) costs in Thailand. The fee depends on how hard your industry competes and how many topics and pages the plan covers. It also depends on the content and links in the plan, the state of your site when work starts, and the team that does the work.
The fee buys the extra clicks a page gets when it reaches the top 3 results for searches without your brand name. So a good quote says which pages the work covers and for which searches, and how the results will be measured.
Google’s guide to how Search works says Google does not accept payment to crawl a site more often or to rank it higher. So all of an SEO fee pays for work on your site, your content and your links.
We found no published survey of SEO prices in Thailand that states its method and how many providers it asked. The price ranges on the pages we read give no source or method. The fair way to compare is line by line, on the work each quote lists.
Position matters to the price because clicks drop fast below the top 3. We took one week of Google Search Console data from 117 Primal client websites. We kept only the searches without each site’s brand name. Pages in positions 1 to 3 got about 31 clicks for every 1,000 impressions. Positions 4 to 10 got about 7, positions 11 to 20 about 4, and position 21 and below about 1.
Pages in the top 3 had about 1 in 7 of these impressions, but nearly half the clicks. The chart compares the four groups.

The same week of data sits behind our comparison of SEO and search engine marketing. The click-through rate in the top 3 was about 4 times the rate at positions 4 to 10. So when you weigh a fee, ask which pages the plan will take from positions 4 to 10 into the top 3.
What An SEO Fee Pays For
An SEO fee pays for research, technical fixes, pages and articles, links, tracking and reports. Tracking now covers the answers that artificial intelligence (AI) tools give, as well as Google’s results.
Google’s page on hiring an SEO lists similar services. They include a review of your site’s content or structure, technical advice, content development, keyword research and optimising for generative AI.
- Research finds the words your customers type and groups them into topics, each with its own target pages.
- Technical SEO checks that Google can reach your pages and add them to its index. Then it fixes what blocks them, such as duplicate pages, broken links or slow pages.
- Content work writes the pages that answer each group of searches. It also updates older articles that still get impressions.
- Link work finds sites with the right readers that relate to your business. Part of this budget is paid to publisher sites.
- Tracking checks the same keyword list every day, and whether Google’s AI Overviews or ChatGPT cite your site.
- Monthly reports split searches with and without your brand name, and list the work published.
If a quote leaves out one of these, ask who does that part. At Primal, on-site fixes are inside the fee, whether our team or yours publishes them.
How Primal Prices SEO
Primal sets an SEO fee from the competition in your industry and the number of topics in the package. Our SEO work runs in the ElevateSEO™ programme, which covers SEO on Google and AI Search in one plan.
We place every industry in one of 4 tiers. The more an industry’s results pages are full of sites with deep content and many links, the higher its tier.
| Competition tier | Example industries |
|---|---|
| Low | Solar, interior design, factories that sell to other businesses, business services |
| Medium | Education, health and wellness, software, furniture |
| High | Automotive, real estate, recruitment, fashion, beauty and skincare |
| Very high | Banking, insurance, crypto, e-commerce, travel |
For the same number of topics, a higher tier carries more links, more digital public relations (PR) work and more rewrites of older pages. Its pages compete with sites that have gathered links and content for years. A beauty clinic and a parts factory may need the same number of pages. The clinic sits in the high tier and the factory in the low tier.
What SEO Packages In Thailand Include
SEO packages in Thailand do not all include the same work, so read what each one lists before you weigh the fees. An ElevateSEO™ package is planned around topics. A topic is a group of searches with its own target pages. The keywords tracked, the questions used to track AI answers, the links and the articles in the plan all grow with the number of topics.
Some SEO packages cover rankings on Google only. An ElevateSEO™ package also tracks the answers that AI tools give, and its fee includes the links and the fixes on your site.
A business that sells a few services in one area needs only a few topics. A business that sells many product groups across the country needs more. So the fee rises with the industry tier and with the number of topics.
What Is Charged Separately And How Payment Works
Translation, each extra country and a second website are charged separately, and the fee is paid in advance, before work starts. Each language uses its own target pages, so a site in Thai and English uses more pages of the package.
Each country is its own package, because links cost different amounts in each market. Links and digital PR for markets such as the United States cost more. A brand’s second website is a separate plan too.
A site redesign and website upkeep sit outside SEO. Upkeep means work such as updates to the content management system and its plug-ins. Our quotes do not include value added tax.
Why SEO Quotes Differ So Much
SEO quotes differ because each provider offers a different amount of work, with a different team. So read a big price gap against the work on each line.
These things push a fee up or down.
- An industry with strong competition needs more links and content, even for the same number of pages.
- A business with many services or many areas needs more topics and target pages.
- A site with duplicate pages, pages missing from the index or a system that is hard to change needs more technical work in the first months.
- A site in several languages or countries needs more target pages and links.
- Links from sites with real readers carry a publishing cost, so a plan with no links costs less.
- One person can cover part of the work. A team with a planner, writers, a web developer and a link specialist costs more.
Ahrefs’ poll of 439 SEO providers worldwide found that agencies charged about 2.4 times what freelancers charged a month, on average.
Mark McDowell, who founded Primal, sets the scope of SEO quotes with clients. We price on the number of topics we help a brand cover, the pages on its site we optimise, the keywords we focus on and the prompts we measure each day across the AI platforms. When a monthly fee is very low, the agency’s tools, its account manager and its margin take most of it, and what is left buys a few hours a month. Those hours buy monitoring and a report, and they do not pay for new content or the off-site work that gets a brand mentioned across the web.
How To Read An SEO Quote
Ask every provider the same questions, and ask for each quote to list the work in numbers. Google’s page on hiring an SEO suggests questions such as these.
- Can you show me examples of your past work?
- Do you follow Google Search Essentials?
- What results do you expect, by when, and how will you measure them?
- What experience do you have in my industry and my country?
- Will you tell me about every change you make to my site, and why?
The same page says to be careful with a company that will not clearly explain what it plans to do. If a provider offers to review your site, give it read access to Search Console only, not the right to make changes.
Then ask every quote to show the same lines.
- The number of topics and target pages
- The keywords tracked, and the tool used to track them
- New articles and updated articles each month
- Links each month, with example sites the links would come from
- The technical work, and who publishes it on the site
- A report that splits searches with and without the brand name
- The contract length, the exit terms and anything charged separately, such as translation
The table below is a made-up example of two quotes, with no prices. It shows which lines make two quotes comparable.
| Line in the quote | Quote A | Quote B |
|---|---|---|
| Keywords | 10 | 120, in 8 topics |
| Target pages | Not stated | 8 |
| Articles each month | 2 | 4, plus 2 older articles updated |
| Links | Not stated | 3 a month, with example sites |
| Technical work | A list of problems for you to fix | Fixed and published for you |
| Report | Rankings for 10 keywords | Clicks from searches without the brand name, rankings and enquiries |
Quote B can cost more because it carries more work on every line. Quote A may be cheaper, but you cannot compare the two until you know what the missing lines hold, and who does the technical work.
What You See Each Month After Paying For SEO
In the first months you see the setup work and changes in impressions. Clicks follow, and enquiries usually change last. Google’s SEO starter guide says some changes take effect in a few hours and others take several months. It suggests waiting a few weeks before you judge whether a change helped.
At Primal the first 5 weeks are setup. We hold a kick-off meeting and research the topics, keywords and AI questions. We set up tracking and review the site’s content and technical health. Then we write the target pages, and make and publish the fixes on the site.
After that comes the monthly work. It covers new articles, rewrites of older ones, links in Thai and English, and monthly and quarterly reports. The goals in our contracts run from the date the on-site fixes are done.
Monthly numbers go up and down, and that is normal. We looked at Search Console data from 137 Primal client websites between 2026-06-15 and 2026-09-29. Across 3 month-on-month changes, only 13 sites gained clicks every time. Clicks fell every time on 17 sites, and the other 107 had months up and months down.
The chart groups the sites by how many of the 3 changes showed more clicks.

For the median site, clicks went up or down by about 7 to 9% a month. So one monthly report cannot tell you whether the work is paying off.
Average position can mislead in the same way. We compared two 28-day periods about 3 months apart across 127 Primal client websites. Average position improved by half a place or more on 46 of them, but 20 of those got fewer clicks.
So judge the work over 3 months or more. Compare periods of the same length, and use the same keyword list. If a quote says when pages will reach a position, it should also say the start date and the keyword list it uses.
Which Number To Judge An SEO Fee On
Judge an SEO fee on clicks from searches without your brand name. People who search for your brand mostly find you already. So those clicks do not show how many new people SEO brings.
In one week of Search Console data, brand searches got about 12 clicks per 100 impressions across 108 Primal client websites. Searches without the brand name got under 1 click per 100 across 117 sites. Half the sites got between about 3 in 10 and 8 in 10 of their clicks from searches without the brand name. Our post on SEO key performance indicators (KPIs) shows how to split the two groups in Search Console.
Here is a made-up example. A service page gets 2,000 impressions a month from searches without the brand name. In positions 4 to 10 it would get about 14 clicks, at the rates in the chart above. In the top 3 it would get about 62. The extra 48 or so clicks a month are what you weigh against the fee.
Multiply those extra clicks by your site’s enquiry rate and by the value of one customer. That gives the monthly revenue the fee has to beat. If the result is far below the fee, cut the number of topics, or start with the searches whose customers are worth the most.
SEO Pricing Models Compared
SEO is priced in 4 main ways, by the month, by the project, by results and by the hour. In Ahrefs’ poll, about 8 in 10 providers charged a monthly retainer, about half charged per project and about a third charged by the hour. The shares add up to more than 100, because one provider can use more than one model.
| Model | How you pay | Suits | What to ask |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | The same fee each month for an agreed scope | Ongoing work that needs content and links every month | What work arrives each month, in numbers |
| Project | One fee for one piece of work | Work with an end, such as a site migration or a review before a redesign | Who publishes the changes after hand-over |
| Pay for results | A payment when keywords reach an agreed position | A business with only a few keywords | Which keywords it is measured on, and whether people search them |
| Hourly | A fee for each hour of advice | An in-house team that does the work and wants a reviewer | Whether your team has the time and the access to change the site |
With pay for results, check the keywords used to measure it. A keyword that almost nobody searches is easy to rank for, but it brings few customers. Primal works mainly on monthly fees, does some project work, and offers performance guarantees in some contracts.

Frequently Asked Questions About SEO Cost
Customers Often Ask Us Why Another Quote Is Much Cheaper
Compare the work line by line first. When we compare quotes with customers, the gap is often the link budget and the AI Search work that some packages leave out. A quote that does not list the number of links, and the sites they come from, cannot be compared with one that does.
Customers Often Ask Us Whether Links Can Be Cut To Lower The Price
Links are a part of the plan that we do not cut, and a plan without links carries no performance guarantee. To lower the fee, reduce the number of topics instead.
Customers Often Ask Us Whether Links And PR Are Inside The Fee
Yes, both are inside our monthly fee, and part of the fee is paid to publisher sites. The number of links each month depends on the sites available in that market. Translation is charged separately.
Customers Often Ask Us How Long The Contract Runs And Whether Paying Ahead Earns A Discount
Our SEO contracts run for 12 months, or for 12 months with a review at month 6, after which you may leave. Paying several months ahead earns a discount. The longer you pay ahead, the larger the discount, and a full year in one payment earns the most.
Customers Often Ask Us Whether SEO Results Can Be Guaranteed
Yes, when the guarantee is written into the contract. A fair guarantee states the measure, the date it is checked and what happens if the goal is missed, such as the right to leave the contract. Ours runs from the date the on-site fixes are done. It has conditions, such as publishing most of the main fixes and keeping the main keywords for the year.
Customers Often Ask Us Whether An In-House SEO Hire Is Better
It depends on which parts of the work that person must cover. One person can do part of it. The full job needs a planner, a writer, a web developer and someone to find links. If you hire one person, ask who does the rest, and where the link budget comes from.
Customers Often Ask Us Whether There Is A Smaller Package For A Small Business
Yes, a package can start with only a few topics, and fewer topics mean a lower fee. If your budget is far below that, a freelancer or doing the work yourself may suit you better. Google’s page on hiring an SEO says a small local business can probably do much of the work itself, starting with the SEO starter guide. If you start small, start with the topic whose customers are worth the most.
