Challenge

This locally inspired resort in Chiang Mai, designed for international travellers, encountered difficulties with its website’s content management system. The CMS did not support multiple languages properly, displaying both Thai and English on the same URLs. As a result, search engines struggled to index and show the correct language version to users in different regions. This significantly impacted the site’s ability to reach global audiences and reduced its visibility in search engine results.

Step into the soul of Chiang Mai with our Thai Lanna-inspired resort

Approach

How Primal tackled the issue was by implementing hreflang tags, enabling search engines to accurately identify and index the site in both Thai and English. The content was also rewritten and optimised according to EEAT principles (Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) to meet best practices for high-quality search content. Structured meta titles were introduced to enhance search visibility, particularly across pages highlighting services such as yoga sessions, cooking classes, and other resort experiences.

Results

In practice, how Primal successfully applied hreflang tags helped search engines distinguish between language versions, improving the site’s international search performance. Service-related pages were updated to follow EEAT guidelines, ensuring relevance and clarity for international users. Clear and structured meta titles were added to key pages, boosting organic visibility and supporting overall site optimisation. These changes collectively led to a significant uplift in performance and a more seamless user experience.
